It is extremely difficult to find words in which to express ones feelings having visited this museum which use to be the headquarters of the Gestapo. It certainly brings to light the extent of the autrocities people underwent in these buildings.
The messages written on the cell walls make you shudder and realise what mental as well a physical torture they had to endure. The museum also covers the period after WW2 until the late 1980's which helps us to understand what the Polish Nation went through. If you are visiting Krakow don't miss this museum. If you are visiting Oscar Schindler;s factory keep your receipt and show it at this museum for a reduction.

Wandered into this time and space exhibition with a really good film of the construction of thewawel Castle and surrounding area from the early ages to present day ,Quite impressive .Well thought out and a mine of useful information concession tickets only 8Pln which is peanuts !!It is not well advertised and people can walk past it without realising that it is there . A good insight into how the town was formed over the ages

The Muzeum Historyczne Miasta is currently undergoing renovation, BUT they have an excellent small exhibition about the history of Krakow called "cyberteka". They history is explained in six rooms. There is a film about the origins in the first room (explains the town with Romanesque churches and buildings on the Wawel hill), then in the following five rooms there are models, old paintings and explanations displayed on screens that illustrate the development until "Greater Krakow" emerged.

The cashier was very shy and said that I will only find one exhibition, as the museum is still under renovation. But let me assure you, this one small exhibition is worth visiting, when you want to understand the history of this town that is actually composed of several old towns.
