Very easy to reach diving by Gliwice. Aside from the object itself, a solid example of public square development. One should always remember that the structure is a wooden one (while 111 meters does not sound impressive while concrete or steel are in discussion - but it is actually the highest wooden structure in existence). If you ignore history, just drop the rating by one.

I think this is a very interesting place to visit, I find it strange that Gliwice Radio Station is not well known as it's where WW2 began. Today it is a nice peaceful place to visit.

Incredible! It looks like it's metal made from a distance but it's wood! We had the opportunity to have a tour with a guide that speaks Spanish and he explained the history behind the Radiostacja and its importance. I loved it!

The Radio Station at Gliwice is the highest wooden structure in the world at 111 metres high and this is where the second world war began with Nazi provocation which Hitler used to invade Poland and start the second world war. The Nazis took over the transmitter and broadcast radio programmes from nearby Breslau. The transmitter on top of the tower is still in use and there is a museum nearby. The whole area is in a park but no toilets At night transmissions from the Gliwice radio tower could be heard throughout Europe and daytime throughout all of Upper Silesia

Nice, open location, worth a visit. Interesting landscaping very well blended with the tower. Kids have nothing to do except playing with the pebbles. There is not a playground but there is a restroom. There should be more info about tower and some activities for kids. Still, this place is worth to see.
