Following a friend's recommendation we went for the hot chocolate but decided to have dinner too. The place itself is very nice, the food was very good, generous portions. They charge a cover for the bread regardless of whether you ask for it or eat it and also for tap water. So if you are planning to quench your thirst with a couple of large glasses of water, take that into consideration. Despite these charges, the prices were very reasonable. We finished our meal with hot chocolate with ice cream, it was delicious but a rather small cup. We were full up and it was very rich so it was enough for us, but don't plan on a large mug of hot chocolate. The service was ok but rather slow.

I acknowledge this is known as a dessert and breakfast place and preface the review by saying we had neither. I was told their menu was great regardless. Our waiter was so friendly and pleasant and would give this place 5 stars for service. The food is 3 stars at best and that's why I gave it a 4. Tempted for a 3 anyways but the atmosphere is pretty cool. Our soup was quite decent (pumpkin carrot) and the waiter offered to split it in to two bowls for us. While some might find it sneaky that they charged 20% for this service I think it's fine (as was the charge for bread he offered us...this is expected). We both ordered beef dishes. My husband had the goulash which while had ok taste the beef was like dried leather and the whole dish was nearing warm. Mine was beef in cream. Again crazy overcooked and the dumplings that came with it that looked like bread tasted like hot fried flour.
Might go back for a dessert to see if the raves are for a reason. Otherwise I would give it a miss.

It was a delicious breakfast in Cafe Louvre. We tried two kind of their breakfasts - French and the Northern. Both of them were very tasty. Nice atmosphere although it was very crowded. Definitely one of the best place in Prague to start the morning.

We went with a friend to have some coffee with a cake) The building is amazing and the atmosphere was great. We ordered coffee with cake, the coffee arrived quickly, but i think then thy forgot us...because we waited almost 20 minutes, and we had to remind them to bring our order (cake). When we asked the waitress to split the bill, she just ignored us. Such a shame...but, the cake was good
