Just returned from Prague, stayed at the Hotel Atlantic in the old town. Location of the hotel is prime to everything, metro 5mins away, tram stop right outside, walking distance to the main train station 15 mins and general walking distance to a number of locations. The hotel itself is very tidy, staff are very welcoming and friendly and most of them speak decent English which makes communication easier.

The room is smallish in size, but then again im 6'3 so most rooms are small, but this one looked quite compact, especially if i was travelling with a partner or friend. The biggest issue I had was the heating in the room, there is no way to control the heating from the room itself and seems like it is on mains setting.

You can open windows but cannot always guarantee air or wind coming in. But again, can;t be helped. There is a bar in the hotel, and sometimes opens at 3 and sometimes at 12, there is also a comfy seating area in the back as well with a billiards table which you have to pay for.

Breakfast is available in the hotel, but i'll be honest I only had it for one day, not something i fancied, would have preferred more hot choice of food. There is starbucks and Mcdonalds within 3 minutes of the hotel, so there are options,.

The hotel overall is very nice and very friendly and in a decent location area. lots of restaurants and shopping options around as well. The Palladium shopping mall is a 2 minute walk away.

Very happy with my choice. Thanks to the team at the Hotel Atlantic

We visited this hotel in December last year. The location is great. The huge palladium shopping mall is a couple of doors down (has chain fast food in it as well as coffee shops and cafe's if you want a cheaper eat), the powder tower is a few minutes walk away and in-between there was a couple of Christmas markets.
The reception staff are really helpful. There are lifts to each floor. The room was warm, very clean and plenty of space. Bathroom spotless. We used the airport transfer service organised by hotel which was very prompt. Down side: the pillows were really thin and flimsy and could be a lot better. The reception staff did organise for us to have an extra pillow each which helped. There are no tea making facilities in the room, however we had our own tea bags ( I know, typical brits) and the staff filled two mugs from the kitchen with hot water so we could have a hot drink to warm back up again. They did this each night without question. Our room faced the main street at the front of the hotel. The trams start really early in the morning and you can hear them in the bedroom. Also one of the bars opposite played music on the Friday night until the early hours of the morning. Again you can hear the muffled music. I expect this would be the same Saturday night too. I think requesting a room facing the back of the hotel would help with the noise though.
Breakfast was ok. Always something to curb our hunger. Make sure you get there at least 30mins before they stop serving breakfast as they start clearing up before the closing time.
Tips: we used Uber to move about in Prague city centre, cheap with no issues. We enjoyed a traditional meal in a restaurant in the basement of the municipal house. There's a couple of really good burger restaurants: sad man's tongue and the street restaurant (both on same road). And try one of the chimney pastries. Loads of places sell them with various fillings. I had one with chocolate inside (requested a hot one) it was delicious and so warming on a freezing day! Also if you want good pictures of the Christmas decorations in old town square, go back after the market closes where there are a lot less people around.

My partner and I spent a wonder 3 days in Prague this last weekend staying at the Atlantic hotel. The location is perfect being within 2 mins of the Powder Tower and 5 mins from the Old Town Square. The nearest tram station is less than a minute from the front door. Reception were excellent storing our cases on arrival as we were early and again before we left. I replaced my suitcase while there and the Reception staff kindly offered to get rid of the old one for me.

Breakfast is plentiful though a confusing mix of items are on offer from cold meat to bacon, cakes and hard-boiled eggs. Quite enjoyable though and needed when braving the minus temperatures outside.

Our room was a very decent size with a lovely modern shower room, and kept very warm.

The bar was rather quiet but the barman was knowledgeable about Moravian wines and Absinthe which we tried for the first (and last!) time.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for affordable comfort in a good location.

This was my husband and I's first visit to Prague for 3 nights and this hotel was perfect! Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Prague. Location is great, we walked around to all sorts of areas in Prague the entire trip and didn't once use a taxi, tram, train etc. There were no pictures on the wall in the bedrooms, we found that very odd and made the room look bare when it was otherwise really nicely decorated. Beautiful bathroom and everything was very clean. Breakfast in the morning was an added bonus, didn't realise we would have a huge selection of hot and cold buffet! Everything I tasted was lovely. Option to buy fizzy juice at breakfast from a fridge if required. Heating and air con in the room, both responsive and good! Hotel reception staff were lovely. Would not hesitate to return.

This place was a location pick based on a recommendation that the Ibis hotel next door is great. By the time we booked our stay the Ibis went up in price and we “settled” on the Hotel Atlantic. What a great find! The worst part about finding any new place in a strange city is orientating yourself after exiting the metro. This place is 2 blocks away from the famed Republic Square. Follow the tram tracks away from the Municiple House keeping the Paddlium shopping mall on your left and you’ll soon be at the hotel. The Ibis Hotel has a bright electronic sign so you can aim for that and keep walking another 75 yards. the Atlantic sits across from a great pizza joint, the Coloseum. The hotel does not require that silly use your room key to turn on the power thing and has a USB port incorporated with the power outlets by the bed. Lifesaver! The WiFi was excellent. We were able to load Netflix quickly and stream a TV show or 2. The regular TV had both Czech and German language channels but only 1 English news channel. It was fun to watch holiday classics in Czech! The hotel safe is digital so no need to get a key from the front desk. I only mention that because we had to key the safe key from the front desk in a hotel in Athens which seemed to defeat the purpose. They do use real room keys attached to this massive key chain thing that you must leave with the front desk when you leave. The front desk staff were awesome no matter the time of day. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very a la cart. Cereal, coffee, juice, milk, breads, fruits, meats, Czech crepe things, sweet treats, and eggs made for plenty of options to fuel our 10+ miles of walking each day. We never used the bar, but the Albert grocery store in the mall gave us opportunity to buy our own OJ, wine, and fruit to snack on in our room. No mini fridge, but it was cold out so we kept some things on the window ledge. The only downside was that the shower head was fixed. It would have been nice to have a removable shower head, but the bathroom did have a functional rolling cart for extra storage. Beds were really comfy if you like a firm mattress, which we do. Walls were really thin so noise travels easily. We could hear the people next door, those down the hall and even the tram on the other side of the building. Location, price, and staff were all excellent! We would recommend this place to those looking for a clean and comfy room near all the action of Old Town Prague 1. 5 stars it is not, but warm and welcoming and great value for the money it certainly is. I’d give the service and value as a 5/5 and the rooms a 4/5 if it would allow me to select!

Room Tip: Facing the street=more tram and street noise. Floors 1-3 seem more recently renovated based on carpet and door styles.
