It's a nice place showing photography antiques. You can also take old-style picture but only sent via mail
Thank you for your comment.
Just one tiny note, we also do prints.

Exhaustive and informative tour of the work of Seidel. One can request for a period setting shoot, too.
This was a wonderful place to while away a wet afternoon and gain an appreciation of what photography used to be about.
By some miracle I was the only person in the museum when I went (around 3pm in the off season). This perhaps added to the experience as I could really immerse myself in the history of photographic technology and the people of Cesky Krumlov. I would definitely recommend getting the audioguide, as it provided much needed context.
The home and equipment have been lovingly restored so that you can see and really appreciate the technical expertise of the early professional photographers such as Seidel. Also the lengths that people of that time would go to just to have a photo of themselves and their family. In the age of smartphones and digital "fast" photography, it is easy to forget what an amazing art form photography truly is.
I would never have imagined that a visit to an old photography studio could be so interesting and illuminating. The Seidel photography studio (and home) has been meticulously preserved, and the audio guide provided excellent explanations and context. Highly recommended! And don't forget to visit the lovely garden in the back.
Probably one of the best small museums we've visited! You can easily imagine living in the beautifully restored art deco home and amazing studio with everything preserved as it was in the 19th century. The musuem and vegetable garden helps capture a moment in time. A must see!!!
