Daluyon in particular and Sabang in general seems like a hidden gem of Palawan. While many people visit on day trips, to experience the Underground River and other attractions, only relatively few opt to stay here. Consequently, this gorgeous spot has all the charm and peace of a small, unspoilt village.
Daluyon itself is the perfect tropical resort, not too big, with thatched roofs and beautiful gardens, that amazing sandy beach right there, an oasis of calm and comfort. We had a beachfront room, with heaps of space, a great bathroom, our own little verandah with a rack for drying towels etc. on the beach are hammocks, bean bags, deck chairs with umbrellas, a lifeguard, kayaks, …you get the picture! There is also a lovely swimming pool in the grounds, a fantastic restaurant, a reading hut and massage hut.
We stayed two days and wished we’d booked for longer!
While there, we enjoyed the Underground River tour and also the Mangrove Tour. In both cases, we were the first there for the day so had the places to ourselves - it can get very crowded once all the vans start arriving from Puerto Princesa, El Nido, etc.
We also had the most amazing massages - those masseuses have magic fingers! We loved the live music at the beach bar each afternoon, and the gentle live piano playing in the restaurant at dinner time. And the meals - fabulous!
But most of all, what makes Daluyon special is the wonderful team of people working there. Every one was friendly, cheerful, and nothing was too much trouble. They made our stay an absolute joy. Out thanks to one and all!
We highly recommend staying longer than you think you need, just so you have time to slow down and enjoy the ambience of Daluyon. But please, keep it a secret - we want that peace to be there when we come for another visit!!! 😉
