Drive to wakan is quiet adventurous,we went as family, the trek up the vineyards and plantation was mesmerising. The walk listing to the birds chirping, water gushing down, and sometimes listening to our own footsteps was an absolute cut off from hustle bustle of city life...
and then the stay at Sama Heritage Lodge was superb,Sama has cosy traditional rooms with the all the modern amenities,
staff were very helpful and friendly
Parking may be an matter of concern
Over all a lovely stay...Must visit for sure...

Room tip: the valley view rooms next to the reception

We drove to wakan village unsure of what to expect. The drive to the top was adventurous but also exhausting. When we reached the top we were surprised to find a small restaurant, on closer inspection we realised it was a newly opened lodge, with 2 double bed rooms and a single room. The rooms were inspired from the rustic charm of traditional hut dwellings with rustic furniture, decor and flooring, but that in turn made it unique.

Staffs were the very friendly and no request went unattended.

As this place is the only accommodation available and with such a small inventory, it is always advisable to book ahead.

The stay will definitely be a memorable one.

Sama Wakan provides traditional rooms, with a good touch of modern fixtures and fittings. No A/C but it is up in the mountains so a bit cooler than the desert plains in summer.
Nice shower/bath. Plenty of hot water
Wakan itself is a gem. BUT, parking very difficult especially at weekends and the road 'up'...and down, is not for the feint hearted!
