This Lighthouse was built in 1859 as a navigation aid for the Port Fairy as it was a developing region.
It was constructed from local bluestone by Scottish stonemasons.
The lighthouse was manned by two keepers but the last time was in 1929 to 1954 as after this date it was automated.
They do offer tours for $5 but the day we visited the queues were long so we did not go inside.
