Called in for a light lunch whilst wine tasting in the wonderful Clare Valley.
We matched it with a Skillogalee reisling.
We sat on the verandah which has an outlook of the garden.
Its a very peacful setting, with great food, wine and service.

A trip to Clare Valley wineries was off to a brilliant start with a lazy, long lunch at Skillogalee.

This delightful little cottage was warm and cosy on a brisk winters day, inside fires going and outside verandah protected by plastic blinds which still allowed a beautiful view of the cottage garden, the very large old Olive Tree and the Eastern Parrots flitting in and out of the garden, providing glorious colour.

We four diners agreed our choices from the menu and the Skillogalee wines recommended were exceptional.

It was a very long, very enjoyable visit and we will certainly be back.

We came here while visiting the area for a few days. We rang and booked for lunch and asked for a table by the fire which is what we got. The food was excellent and the service was engaging and efficient. I had the sardines for entree and the beef for main. Both were excellent, but I would have to say that the beef was a real highlight - absolutely melt in the mouth with great flavour. Our server, Mo, was friendly and engaging. All in all this was a really great spot to have a wonderful lunch.

My husband and I haven't been to Clare for several years so we thought we would revisit Skillagalee Winery for lunch, which is one of our favourite restaurants in the region. It was hard to decide what to choose from the menu so we both ordered the beef with the accompanying vegetables and a side serve of mushrooms. The meat was so tender, it melted in the mouth and the mushrooms were nicely cooked. Hubby opted not to have dessert. Again there was a good selection of desserts plus home made ice creams and they also have Affogatto served with their own muscat. I decided to have the Rhubarb Crumble with Cinnamon Ice cream which was absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed the food, the lovely, cosy setting and the ambience. Skillagalee is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch and still remains a firm favourite of ours.

A very cosy place in the midst of all the vines. Nice staff. Tasting room is tiny and cramped. We had lunch, great mains but the charcuterie board we shared as a starter was somewhat "ordinary" and therefore a bit disappointing. Fantastic Riesling!
