I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant while walking on the mooloombala esplanade. Ordered a pizza and omg it’s smashingly good. Do give this restaurant a try if you happen to be around this area.

Our waiter was a genuine Italian and very exuberant and friendly, the kids thought he was fantastic, especially when he brought out ice cream with sprinkles for their dessert. This restaurant caters well to kids and happily veered off the menu (gnocchi instead of penne) for them. It was very busy so we weren't served super quickly, but the food was generously proportioned and tasty. The pasta was really good and the pizzas were delicious. The Italian doughnuts on the dessert menu are definitely worth trying. Don't go here if you're on a diet!

Via Italia wasn't our first choice on our first night in Mooloolaba, but as we couldn't secure a table at our other Italian picks, we walked further and discovered this gem. While the meals aren't cheap (none of the restaurants in the main strip are), the service was excellent and our meals lovely. We had pasta dishes on our first visit, and then booked again for the Thursday Roast special. The Pork Belly roast was outstanding, and at only $15 plus $5 for a side serve of greens - probably the best value of all the meals we ate during our stay.

The lower ratings for this restaurant didn't match our experience at all. And while we did dine at another Italian later on in the week, the quality wasn't even close to the food we ate at Via Italia.

The kids menu was extensive with something for all ages and the staff were only too happy to accommodate our requests for cheese on the side, greens on the side and other various fussy eater requests!

Looking forward to a return visit next holiday!

Just had a meal here with family, had no booking but was accommodated for family of 5.
Initially service was prompt, meals arrived in good time and were pretty good on the whole.
But after finishing dinner around 8pm we sat for the next hour with no service and our finished meals left on the table.
Staff were far more occupied clearing away tables than bothering to check at our table.
Wait staff finally came over at 9pm and offered a desert menu!
Would have liked that after my meal not an hour after waiting for tables to be cleared.
Bill came to $155, shame as prob missed out on another $50 in desserts.
Prob should save the money on printing business cards to give to your diners as I imagine most end up in the bin.

We were recommended Via Italia by a friend. Must say we were extremely disappointed by the sizing and pricing of their $12 pasta night. Not sure how big their regular portions are but paid an extra $8 to upgrade the meal. The gnocchi was an entree size meal! For $20, it was appalling! The waitress came to take our drink order, knew nothing of the wines, so suggested the house special instead, took my meal order and walked away, without taking my husbands order, considering it was only the two of us, that shouldn’t have been too hard for such a restaurant! When we called her back, she was rude and rather stuck up. Having managed in the hospitality industry for over 10 years...found this to be rather irritating and unacceptable service. When we asked about the portion size upgrade, even the waiter agreed it was too small and told us to see him next time we come and it would be better. The thing is, as a restaurant you need to get it right the first time for your patrons and make it a quality experience so they want to return, and this is definitely something this restaurant failed at. If your going to promote a ‘special’ don’t get greedy and half the portions, because if that was an upgrade, I would have walked out with the size of your ‘regular’ pasta!
