Good location just off the main street, with a short walk to all shops and restaurants and cafes and pubs and bus stops in town. I didn't hear any noise from Peden's pub next door, although there were a group of men outside at Friday 10pm drinking beers and making a bit of noise. I don't know what reception's hours were as they didn't post this anywhere, so I couldn't alert anyone.
The room itself was a bit dated, the TV didn't work at first so I had to ask reception to fix it. However the shower was nice and hot and strong, really good. The bed was comfortable too, and the kettle worked fine so I could make coffee.
Didn't get to use the pool as it was too cold, it was small but would've fit a small group of people standing up.
For $120 or so a night, it's probably about right but nothing special. I might give either the Cessnock Hotel or Peden's Hotel a go next time as they're cheaper.More
