Beautiful view, great wine, food menu could do with a few more options. Make sure to book if you plan to visit, it’s a very popular spot especially over Summer.

Our visit was with the Bay of Islands Walking Tour the trip to Omata was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered at a quality restaurant.

They were advised I was coeliac before arriving then again when we sat down. I got to sit there through two courses without being acknowledged.

The staff engagement was absolutely terrible. While staff nodded they did nothing about it. I even went to complain to the bar manager but no one was interested. They were quite happy to keep serving me lots of alcohol, which must raise into question host responsibilities and their alcohol license.

Once the third course had come out for my friends I was finally offered a GF pizza.

My advise if you have any dietary requirements don’t go to Omata

The Omata Estate is a very lovely place in the middle of a vineyard. The pizza and vine are just delicious. Also the coffee is to recommend.
James and his staff are very service oriented. All in all, the Omata Estate is a gorgeous restaurant and definitely worth to go.
