We stumbled across this place as we were looking for another place and we’re happy we chose this place! Fun setting with live music, indoor and outdoor seating. Tasty beers and drinks. Delicious food. Friendly staff.

Stopped here twice! The first time was for drinks, and I tried the special of the day. WOW! Had to go back for another the next day. It was called "dreams are free" and is a raspberry, passionfruit, and tequila drink. Get one! We both had the crispy shrimp tacos the next day and they were the best tacos we've ever had...and we live in the SW USA and travel to Mexico a ton! They also have live music here, so it's a great place for a relaxing, fun afternoon or evening.

we ordered fish & chips, I asked what is waiting time and the waiter said 20 minutes. we ordered coke & beer. our coke was flat. beer was warm and tasteless. After 25 minutes, I asked any update about our meal. the waiter said we are busy, you need to wait 20 minutes to get your food. I mentioned to her that we have been waiting at least 25. She disappeared and 5 minutes later came with badly cooked fish and soggy chips. I would not recommend this place to Anyone!

Paid $80 + for 4 cocktails... watching the bar tender making the drinks on her mobile, touching her hair, tucking herself in and tearing our mint for our mojitos. Plonk our drinks down, back on the phone.
Round the corner, Duke of Marlborough we are getting the good service and four quality cocktails $80 deserves.
We live in Opua... local, and Bad Habits on Paihia side...same owners is a lot better. Stick to Paihia. Nauti penguin is just a local beer and wine venue.

Had dinner here recently. Not very many in the place and those who were there were drinking not eating so we were surprised with the length of time it took for service and for the burgers to appear. Table was sticky and the cutlery sparse and not very clean. We were given fresh cutlery when we asked- no apology given. The outside area was attractive except those who were there drinking were smoking so we sat inside where in the adjoining room live music was pumping very loudly for 3 patrons. We could not talk over the repetitive music as it was extremely loud- not sure why as it was very early and 3 young girls were the only patrons. The bar staff were not particularly friendly. This was in fact the disappointment of this trip to Northland area.
