Many folk gathered for the hangi and supper at the boat club after the hugely successful Tall Ships Race from Auckland to Russell.The band was great and the vibe fantastic.

A surprise invite led to a really enjoyable evening outside on the deck enjoying good simple food, excellent wine, and wonderful chat with some of the members.

Hubby & I decided on the fried fresh oysters ($40) which we shared that were the BEST we've ever eaten anywhere!!!
Steak fries were great as well. Food is very pricey in Russell! Bartenders were very friendly, casual relaxed atmosphere & tap beer in cold mugs, tasty! The balcony sitting was PERFECT 4 sunset!

From bar to table service great, food fast and good value everyday NZ meals. Good range to choose from ,fire going, pleasant atmosphere with locals relaxing. Yo can have a meal and a drink for $20

This venue was recommended to us so we popped in late afternoon to check it out, very friendly reception. Quirky little clubhouse in stunning surroundings, ceiling festooned with flags in keeping with the general atmosphere. Returned later to eat fish and chips, lights hanging outside around the jetty, a warm fire roaring inside and locals sitting around chatting. The service at the bar was not so friendly unfortunately, but the commodore made up for this by introducing himself and spending some time chatting to us. Good tasty food and very pleasant evening. Definitely recommend!
