After a stunning walk in the treetops, we wanted a nice lunch to finish the visit off. The food was great. Exceptional tomato soup!!
But the lady serving us was very slow and abrupt. Telling us to "just wait!" when we tried to continue listing our order after a period of silence. We were finally given a buzzer unit and told to come up for our order when it went off. We duly did that and were given one coffee. When we asked about the rest of our order (totalling over $70) she told us that the coffee was the only thing on our order, showing us a docket with just the one coffee. When we looked confused and said we had a bunch of other things she was short with us, telling us no we didn't have anything else in that docket. and another person has to tell us that they hadn't forgotten our meal and that we should go away and come back when in beeped again. She then made us feel silly and that we should have realised that she was just talking about the drinks docket.
Over all, this one lady, her rude demeanor and confusing explanations spoilt the whole lunch for us. We didn't go back for desserts because we simply didn't want to encounter that lady again! Shame, the barista and the man who was also at the counter both seemed lovely.
Slightly annoying also, that we chose to stay for lunch there because the kiwi card website claimed a 10% discount at the cafe, but they would not give us that discount.

This is easily the best things we've done in NZ in years! We had a glorious sunny day with clear blue skies. Booked on line and saved a few dollars on the entry fee. The walk is easy, the structures very safe and solid so that even someone (me included) who doesn't like heights is able to relax and enjoy it. The views over the lake from the tower are stunning. So much to see and learn. Map and information pamphlet had just the right amount of information. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and listening to the Bellbirds. We also enjoyed the cafe although this was not the main reason for going. Staff were friendly and helpful and coffee/tea/food all very good.

Great place to stretch your legs and see some amazing views! Luckily we were a couple could imagine this would be very expensive for a family.

This was amazing. Scared the crap out of me(I am not good with heights). The walk was easy and suitable for all, with most looking like it would be wheelchair accessible too.

The views are wonderful and the information points throughout were really interesting.

Highly recommend.
