After a big week at work I just felt like and beer and a schnitzel at the pub but my wife convinced me to have a nice night out. Boy was she right!

These guys did an awesome job. Every dish sounded fancy with its finger lines and interesting vegetables but it was delicious. Next wedding in the Hunter we’ll definitely be back again.

Everything about the place was different. They had a Tesla charging station or two. The clams, kangaroo and brisket were my favourite. The chef even came and had a chat with me. Was a really nice atmosphere. Cool large glass window looking into the winery facilities so you could see where they make the Oakvale wines. The kitchen was open plan so you could see them make all the food too.

Really enjoyed the experience as well as the food.

Thank Brodskyj

The best restaurant experience I have had would be at EXP restaurant. We booked for a group of 8, and when we arrived we were all greeted happily by most of the staff and made to feel welcome. We were shown to our table, right in the middle of the small restaurant, surrounded by staff. Being such a small restaurant, with 7 staff members working, it was almost like we had a staff member for each person! By the time we were half way through our degustation, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The staff were genuinely interested in what we thought of the food, and chatted to us after each course. They also catered to my request to swap the Kangaroo with a vegetarian option on the day, with such short notice it was just fantastic that they could handle this request with no problem. When they brought out each course, they announced from memory specifically what it entailed, describing the providence of the ingredients. The food is AMAZING. The tasting menu is a roller coaster for the senses, with so many different flavours to taste and aromas to smell. We were there from 2pm-5:30pm, and loved every minute of it!

EXP was stunning. Great, inventive food that combines inventiveness with local ingredients, served with elegance and personality. The full menu is an epic journey through texture and flavour. An absolute must-visit if you're in the region and want a dining experience that challenges your view of great food, and opens your eyes to the world around you.

We contemplated the tasting menu but in the end went a la carte. Everything as described sounded delicious but I eventually opted for the sea trout (succulent with crispy skin & yummy foams), the kangaroo (so lean & juicy) & the milk pudding (not sure what to expect, it was incredible, so light). Presentation was imaginative & impressive. The accompanying wines were excellent & we sat outside on the little terrace which was great. The only downside was that one of the servers was just a bit too familiar & over-chatty, we didn't really want to hear so much about them when luncheoning on such amazing fare

Small and not pretentious it had an intimate feel. We decided to go with the larger degustation menu. Probably not for the unadventurous but could not fault the taste sensations of this wonderful menu. Locally sourced foods with native inflections, everything from Emu to Wattle flower seeds and salt bush. Loved it. Will go again!!!
