Was very fortunate to snag a last minute booking at the Akuna when all else was booked, but couldn’t have been happier with the place.

Managers were sensational and totally accomodating with trailer parking etc and room was just what you’d ask for at a very reasonable price. Clean and comfy, great facilities. Will be back!!

We say this because the grounds and external upkeep of this property is pristine & only a taste of what you get as a whole experience. The reception is just as inviting & the service we received 5 star. There were quaint outdoor settings by the window of each motel room for starters. Inside, the room was fresh, clean & equipped with quality curtains, towels, white-goods & electrical’s. The bathroom was modern & even had electric towel rails. It was impressive to see environmentally considerate notices & even a shower timer suctioned to the wall. All the little things were catered for & made our stay so special. Even a night of heavy storm & rain didn’t dampen our experience- we were warm, cosy & in such quiet surrounds that it was a very restful stay. Location was ideal too.

We spent a couple of nights at Akuna whilst on a family road trip. The rooms were a decent size, pretty well equipped and beds were comfortable.

It’s located pretty close to everything, especially the zoo and makes a great base whilst in town. Staff were super friendly and welcoming as well.

Only criticism was that the rooms were a touch noisy, more obvious on the first night than the second with trucks on the highway pretty close and you could hear people outside the room.

Actually, Karen, the booking you made was 5 minutes after, not an hour, that the last room was booked out.
As soon as your booking dropped into our system as unallocated, I rang you immediately to inform you of this. Your response was to threaten this review and hang up on me.
We can and do keep up with the booking companies and it is not our fault that there is a system delay of a couple of minutes for all systems across the web to be updated......
People should note you decided to write this after 8 pm tonight and the issue we had was at 11.48 am this morning.
Maybe you should get some sleep if you have an early flight in the morning yeah.....

During my research on where to stay in Dubbo I read some great reviews on TripAdvisor about Akuna motor inn, and they weren’t exaggerated.
A warm friendly welcome at reception then led us to a big, well appointed room. The pool was a bonus during our hot stay.
Although it’s on the other side of the bridge to the city centre, it is walking distance to a club and hotel. McDonald’s is right next door.
We ate breakfast at the hotel as it was very reasonably priced and not worth the effort to get dressed and go out at that hour of the morning.
A huge bonus here is the complimentary guest laundry. What a bonus if you’re on a road trip and have been sweating in your clothes for days.
A possible downside to the hotel, for some, is that it’s on the highway, but, our room was at the front of the building facing the road and I didn’t have an issue at all with noise.
This is a lovely, family run motel and as it’s all on one level, there’s no hauling luggage upstairs and most rooms have parking outside the door.
Thankyou Akuna for a lovely stay.
