“Highly enjoyable experience ”

We did this because of the reviews and were not disappointed. We didn't initially book for the BBQ lunch however opted on board to pay for it and are soooo glad we did. The cruise itself was lovely taking in the scenery and the historical charm of such a relic steam ship and its workings. The drop off at Walter Peak farm was delightful and we were entertained with a sheep shearing and cattle herding show.....and amazingly clever dogs! The BBQ lunch was not at all what we expected. It was so well organised and set up like a buffet with plenty of salads, roast veg, perfectly cooked meats and desserts all eaten in a grand country style room with a fire place roaring. Highly recommend ...

“Vintage Journey”

I felt like I was going back in time, you could get a great view from the center of the boat of its workings. The boat itself is worth the trip.

“Must do!!”
Reviewed October 18, 2015

We had a lovely evening and amazing meal.
The ride across the lake on the Ernslaw Steam boat was fun and interesting. Dress warm as it is cold on the lake!
Food and drink is available for purchase during the approximate 45 min journey.
Arriving at the farm, you are greeted by staff and led to the restaurant.
After ordering drinks, you are invited to start the buffet.
The food is wonderful.
BBQ Roast meats and fish, cold seafood, salads and veges, antipasto, and beautiful desserts.
Enjoyed everything!
After dinner, a short presentation is done in the shearing shed, dogs herding the sheep and sheep shearing.
We were lucky, being spring there was baby lambs and we were allowed a cuddle and photo opportunity.
Back on the steam boat back to Queenstown.
Stunning views, great service, beautiful food, interesting and informative, fun and well worth the money.
A special evening, thank you.

“Must do activity while in Queenstown”
Reviewed October 18, 2015

This tour starts with a ride on a historic steamboat leaving the dock in Queenstown and traveling across the lake to Walter Peak station. At the station, you see sheep sheering, watch sheep dogs herding sheep, get to hold lambs, and see all kinds of animals. Cam, our host at the station was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Overall a great value.

“Family fun at the farm tour”
Reviewed October 16, 2015

Our family enjoyed feeding the deer, highland cattle, alpaca's and sheep. The sheep dogs did tricks and were very entertaining. A great afternoon at the farm with a delicious afternoon tea. The steamer boat was very informative and relaxing.
