The two of us spent 2 nights before our Milford walk and 3 nights after. This place is a gem. Located 5 min drive (hotel shuttle run every hour back and forth to town) or 30 min beautiful walk from the centre of Queenstown, the views are amazing... just stunning. However what makes this hotel special is the staff. The reception guys, the shuttle guys, the room cleaning crew are all super helpful and kind. This is definitely a place I will recommend if you stay in Queenstown.

We booked the twin rooms with Lake View. Our rooms were situated away from the main building. The rooms are spread out like ski chalets. The rooms are definitely old fashioned and dated. The bathroom which was situated next to the front door was very cold with a really bad shower. The main living area is spacious, and warm once the heaters were turned on for a while. The beds had electric blankets. The living area has a sliding door looking out on the mountains of Queenstown which was beautiful. Breakfast was served in the main building which is a lot more modern and comfortable with some more great views while enjoying breakfast.

Hi ReviewerLC!

Thanks for choosing for your stay in Queenstown and sharing your thoughts! While I appreciate your kind words for modern main building, breakfast service, and breathtaking views, I'm very sorry to learn that you weren't impressed with the state of our rooms and en suite bathroom.

I totally recognize that details matter, and they can make or break our guests' overall experience. I can assure you that everybody here tries their best to make sure that our guests leave with pleasant memories. That said, I shared your concerns with our General Manager, so we can make the necessary updates to our rooms.

Once again, thanks for the feedback. We all hope to have you again, so we can provide you with the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

Safe travels,

Our room, 520 in which we stayed for 3 nights, has good views of the lake. Its newly renovated, clean and the bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub with a shower. The bed is comfortable. Although the hotel is on the main road, we could not hear traffic noise at all.

As the hotel is about 4 km from town, there is a free shuttle service every hour from 7 am to 9 pm to and from town which we found most convenient. Advance booking is required as the seats are limited.

Breakfast was adequate. There were boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, choices of bread, pastries, cereal, yoghurt and fruits. When we were there, congee was also available as there were groups of Chinese tourists.

The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful especially the guy multi-tasking and driving the shuttle.

What concerned us most was there were lots of mosquitoes flocking into our room. They must have entered our room during cleaning when the door was opened wide or when we returned to our room in the evening. We did not open the balcony door but the mosquitoes seemed to be able to come in from nowhere once the lights were turned on. A mosquito spray and a fan, provided by the hotel, helped to alleviate the problem a little. I do not think its only my room that was infested with mosquitoes. The management should consider installing mosquito screens. I would have given it a 4 rating had it not been the mosquitoes.

We had prior knowledge that our room would be dated , the price had been adjusted. Reception good, parking good, rooms at the front get a great view. Helpful staff, when complete it will be great, good position , shuttle into town.

The hotel was undergoing a refurbishment (not that we noticed or heard anything). We had room (402) which was waiting to be updated and it was perfectly fine to use. Great views from our patio and even better views from the restaurant.
The staff were all very professional and helpful, Monika especially.

Comfort was really impressive and the bed was enormous.

I can't fault the service, really made a memorable stay.

Food was good too, ate breakfast and dinner both were OK.
