If you love a creamy chicken dish this was perfect. Chicken with a creamy cheese in filo pastry. Beautiful.

My husband and I come to the kiln whenever we’re in Invercargill. It has yet to miss a beat during any of our reasonably frequent visits. Staff are fantastic, food delicious and atmosphere just right. Love it!

Nice decor and attentive staff.
Ordered a lamb dish with crispy kale and crumbed mushrooms. Quite good - a little extra attention to trimming the lamb would have enhanced. Had a cheesecake dessert - that was ok.
Problem was that 2 hours latter it all started repeating on me, and that was the end of the night! A distinct taste of "off" mushroom. Not much left in the system now. Don't think I'll be back there when next in town.

Located in the central business district, this iconic watering hole prepares delicious meals in a warm setting.

Come Thursday evening for the steak special or at the weekend when either a D.J. or a live band will entertain you.

There is outdoor seating available and a full bar inside. Service is prompt and pleasant.

We just wanted a quick bite to eat and as we were walking along the road saw the Montieth's sign and decided a cider would go down well!
Wide ranging menu with some specials too, attentive waitress taking order and checking drinks were OK and food through the meal.
3 mains and 1 starter plus a couple of rounds a drink came to @NZD 140.
Calamari, Pork Belly, Caesar salad and a Beef Wellington. All our plates were clean which I think speaks for itself - the food was very good!
Good atmosphere in the restaurant, parking was at a premium on the road outside even on a Monday, but there were people left over from a weekend motorbike event.
