I was a bit late for my booking and the man on the door made a big fuss before showing me to my table. It was very busy because it was a Friday evening. The staff were friendly and efficient, the pizza was the best if had in NZ. But the tiramisu was very strange and it spoiled my dinner. The waitress told me that they struggled to get the right ingredients…..that may be so but there are plenty of puds that could have been offered.

We found this place thanks to online recommendations and weren’t disappointed. When we arrived on a Saturday night the staff apologised there were no tables but we could sit on the high stools by the window. Best seats in the house! A few drinks and great food whilst listening to the music (she played our request immediately) and watching the ferries come and go.
So good we did the same thing our other 2 nights!
Also, staff in Russell and on the boats all said this was the best place in town.

Overlooking the bay & very busy. Great atmosphere, great food & good, friendly staff. Had the seafood pasta (amazing) & the fish of the day - snapper which was really good too. Drinks a bit expensive but you are in a prime location. Wouldn’t bother with the garlic bread (bit dry & didn’t taste of much other than salt) but don’t let that stop you going here.

Not our first visit here we really enjoyed our evening experience. The food was great, the service attentive and the ambiance warm.
Best meal in the Bay this holiday.

Four adults and two children went for lunch. We followed a young couple into the restaurant who sat down at an empty table. We attempted to sit down at an empty table when a flustered staff member rushed up and asked if the table manager had said we could sit there? The couple already seated were being presented with menus as they hadn't been rudely questioned before sitting.

However, the meals we ordered were tasty. Salmon pizza - delicious. Fish and chips - for the kids. Calamari and chips - nice. Hamburger and chips - okay. Side dishes of chips were tasty but perhaps too salty.

When it was time for payment, the cashier stops the chit at "Do you want to leave a tip?" I pressed the "No" button and the cashier barely thanked me for paying the $199 bill. I don't plan to go there again
