On the plus side, the Num Tok beef salad was very tasty. On the less than plus side, waited about 4 minutes for a table while a takeaway customer was being served. In the meantime, a waiter appeared and showed me to a table.
The delivery robots are quite entertaining, and you have to wonder with the no doubt major cost of these robots, they still require a human to follow them. Under the circumstances, what follows is ironic in the extreme.
After the food had been served, to his credit, the waiter did ask how the food was. However, he was less than enthusiastic when clearing the table when I placed an order for dessert.
In a now near empty restaurant, it took several minutes for the dessert to arrive, and I was seriously wondering if it had been forgotten.
In the meantime, one of the robots was actually verbalizing to its intended recipients, the irony of this will now become apparent.
I was attended to by the same waiter when paying the bill. No further talk, just "that will be $42." I duly paid and said thank you, to which he turned and hurried away like a frightened rabbit. The ultimate irony? The waiter's name, see photo attached.
So the question begs, are the robots at Greens Paihia Thai at more human than the "humans"? You decide.
