Visit was enjoyable. I would suggest better labeling of species. While recognizing some, my botany skills are limited.

My husband and I were on a guided tour of New Zealand and the Winter Garden was one of our stops on the city tour. I love gardens, especially flower gardens. I really enjoyed this stop very much. We had about an hour to walk around and enjoy the gardens. If you're in Auckland and enjoy gardens, this is a nice way to spend your time.
We went there after a museum's visit and our lunch break at the Winder Garden Cafe. The tropical plants an flowers on display are breathtaking and take you into a different world. In the other building are more changing displays depending on the season. We took so many photos. Not to forget the beautiful buildings which have an early 1900 design. Between the two garden buildings is an entry to a New Zealand's ferns garden, which you should not leave out. And guess what: No entry fee as a plus.
The Winder Garden is small, but very nice, and you can't beat the price of admission - because there isn't one. You'll see it all in about 15 minutes, but it's 15 minutes well spent.
Extremely well-maintained winter garden in the domain- we spent more time than we had planned, admiring the plants and flowers and walking in the fern garden
