Like Mount Eden, great views of the surrounding areas. As many pronounce, there is no tree on One Tree Hill, but who cares.

there is a tall monument with some interesting information around the base.

Sorry to see reviews of thefts in this area. Parking at the top can be a problem.

It's is a wonderful view that let's you see all of Auckland. It is crowded, and if you drive up it could take just as long as if you had walked do the narrow streets and lots of cars.

The walk to the top is easy and the reward at the top is absolutely breath taking. You can see the whole of auckland with a 360° view. On a clear day is best but not essential.

We went to One tree hill by taking a public bus from the CBD. You will get to see the nearby districts of Auckland on the way. There is a lot of history in this tourist attraction. Upon entering you will see a lot of tame sheep grazing on the grounds. It seems that they were put there to provide a sheep encounter experience for the tourists. Or they are there to keep the grass from growing too high.

The hike to the top of the hill where the obelisk is located might look daunting. The road looked steep but the walk was not exhausting. The reward is the awesome 360 degree view of Auckland once you made it all the way up. There was a long white cloud during the time of our visit. There is some interesting information at the site of the obelisk. Find time to read it to understand the colonial history and the Maori tradition of the city’s early history.
