Very pleasant stay in a 2 bedroom family apartment. Huge living space, separate laundry, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Although this is an older property the apartment had modern furnishings and bathrooms. Bed linens were nice and sleep quality was great. Great indoor pool and spa also gymnasium. The only negative was the small restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch, would have been nice to have been able to get dinner at the property. Easy walking to the Viaduct, Sky Tower etc.

We had an 18th floor room overlooking the harbour with the morning sun streaming in each day. A great location, being handy to the ferries, buses, shopping and access to major arterial roads out of the city.
Daily room service done to a high standard leaves you with nothing to worry about. Separate bedroom and lounge, well equipped kitchen so you can enjoy the local delights, a full sized fridge and mini dishwasher. Plunger coffee was available. The bathroom has separate shower and bath and the laundry (with dryer) makes a long stay easy.

Room Tip: Ask for harbour views. No in-room movies as stated on the website. Auckland CBD is undergoing massive works so ask for a quite room.

Had a getaway weekend there after staying at the Hilton the weekend before. $115 cheaper including parking and got a fully self contained 1 bedroom apartment with a huge balcony with fantastic views of the harbour. You even get your own laundry. Loved the indoor pool and spa. Negatives were dated drapes and gold frames prints that could be binned and the bed is two King singles together so doesn't feel great when your sleeping in the middle but hey, for the price and location, I'm not picking the faults really. I would absolutely recommend the Sebel.

Stayed here for a two night work trip, sharing a two-bedroom apartment on the 24th floor with a work colleague. Apartments are very spacious, if a little dated (lots of chipped / cracked tiles on the floor, yellowed (with age) plastic trimming on the fridge etc).

One great longish balcony overlooking the Viaduct / harbour - so a lovely view of the sunset (if it wasn't overcast or raining) and a tiny box one looking out the back.

For a fussy showerer, this place got the thumbs up - decent water pressure, temperature and (most importantly) water "spray" - I didn't have to run laps in the shower cubicle to get wet - happy days.

I think a lot of the building is actually apartments were people live, not solely hotel apartments - as there were a lot of school kids going up and down in the lift during our stay, and real estate letting agents waiting around in the foyer meeting people to take them up to a viewing of different apartments?

As an Accor gold member, I should have had benefits that included:
- a welcome drink
- upgrade to the next room category
- a VIP treatment and
- a late check out

None of this was provided, and reception staff didn't seem to have clue about any of them! They said that no late check out could be confirmed until the day of check out - I would need to call first thing that morning to ask - which seems to defeat the purpose of a late check out, if you (like me) wanted to sleep in for an extra two hours instead of getting up at 9am!

Room Tip: Room 2401 had great views of the harbour and sunset

Dear SimBuc

Thank you for your loyalty and taking the time to provide feedback of your recent stay with us. I am sorry that your benefits as a loyal member were not delivered to your expectation and I would like to sincerely apologise for this. This has been followed up with the team to ensure that our loyal members are given due recognition and service.

I agree the building is old and since this is an apartment style set up, there are also residents residing in the building. On a positive note we are pleased to hear that the shower pressure was great and you enjoyed the view from your spacious apartment.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and we hope to welcome you back in near future.

Kind regards
Kesh Nand

The Sebel is a great place to stay. It is very close to the heart of the city and easy walking distance to the harbour, main street shopping district and numerous good restaurants. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and just lovely to deal with. The rooms are large and have lots of natural light and great harbour views so absolutely happy with this.
