We found a very good Italian restaurant and ended up in a very good piano Bar. The full entertainment package on one street.

Lovely place to take the children so show them an iconic part of Melbourne.

The kids loved walking along and looking at all the restaurants and little shops. Lovely friendly staff outside most restaurants trying to encourage you into there own place.

Short distance from the centre of Melbourne and nearby to Ikon park.

Lygon Street has so many awesome Italian restaurants to choose from. From breakfast until the wee hours of the evening, you can enjoy an abundance of genuine Itallian fare with all the trimmings.

I hate to say it, but Lygon St is looking a bit tired in places. But, in other places, it's forging ahead, with new cafes and restaurants wherever you look. There's a lot to choose from, so don't just stick to the usual tourist strip.

Having not visited my home town for more than 10 years I was delighted to return to the areas I frequented as a student at Melbourne Uni. Things have changed a little but, in most cases, for the better. Old standards like Tiamo which still has the best pasta in Melbourne IMO, Brunettis which has moved from Faraday St to Lygon St with a magnificent assortment of delicious cakes Gian Carlo's coffee all make me feel entirely at home. For Italian food lovers Lygon St is the place to be
