We had a lovely two night stay here, in central Lygon Street, there is literally that many restaurants so close to this place, that you could eat forever! The experience of Lygon street is one that has to be discovered, and this hotel is definitely the one to stay at to do so! It's also very close to much of melbourne, with a few minutes walk to trams or anything else you want to do in Melbourne!
The accommodation itself is typical of Lygon Street, 24/7 staffed, with knowledgeable staff that are willing to help in any way possible. Comfortable, soft beds, multiple pillows available, tables, chairs, every room seems to have a balcony, which there might not be much to look at at the rear of the hotel, but the added space this ads to the room itself is awesome.
We went primarily for the Flower show that is held in Carlton Gardens, a short 2 block walk from the accommodation, which we easily managed, even on returning with multiple bags of purchases from the show. Also whilst we were there we attended a IMAX showing that is also near the gardens, again a easy walk. We had no end of choice for meals, with some open till midnight or later.
The room has cooking facilities, plus standard coffee/tea kettle and toaster available. Noise was not an issue, we stayed towards the rear of the hotel. Parking is limited, and you may have to park elsewhere, I suggest the old royal women's car park, cost us $28 for Friday-Sunday, vs the carpark next door was going to be $60+ a night. Rooms were clean and tidy, shower is very large and easily fit two into it. Towels were nice and fluffy.
We had a great weekend getaway, at a reasonable price, considering the amount of events on that weekend, including the Grand Prix. I would highly recommend you come and try this accomodation for yourself!

Room Tip: Rear of the hotel would be quieter, however noise was limited anyway, the street is more people friendly than car friendly!

A fabulous place to base yourself, close to the city and transport. Surrounded by great places to eat. Rooms are basic but clean and have all you need. The only down side is the parking......first in best dressed as there is not a park allocated for each room.
If you go out at night there is not garante of a park on your return. All other parking nearby is timed easier after noon on Sats and Sundays. Our room was tot he side and we did not hear the street noise, might be different if you are facing the street.

Room Tip: not on the street, rooms to the side have resturant fans going until they close, then very quiet.

Terrific service, I’d say the staff at reception give the 5 star properties a run for there money. Wonderful location in the heart of Lygon St. Room is simple but has everything you need including cooking facilities. Free parking a bonus.

A good welcome at reception. Our studio apartment seemed freshly decorated and very well appointed, comfortable and roomy. The opportunity self cater breakfast etc. made for a most relaxed stay. Great location for the Melbourne flower show, restaurants and Little Italy. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Choose rooms away from the front street.

The staff at the front desk were cheerful and kind. They helped me to sort out parking, and I really appreciated it. It made my trip so much less stressful. Location also brilliant - so many choices for dinner and breakfast.
