The Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens is perfectly placed for the visitor to Melbourne. We had a view over the Gardens, which was refreshing, and the building itself is a few steps away from a stop on the outer edge of the free tram system that serves the centre of the city and makes it an easy and convenient place to visit. Our room was of average size, but with a good bathroom and tea and coffee making facitlities. Breakfast was very good, with a big variety of cooked dishes, cereals, fruit and pastries and, which isn't all that usual, a machine with water hot enough for proper tea. We also ate one dinner in the restaurant, which was not only very tasty but reduced in price because of a special deal that the waiter didn't need to tell us about. All the waiters were friendly and pleasant as were the desk staff, who made several telephone calls for us to answer queries and arrange taxis. Finally, when we had checked out and were waiting in the hotel to be picked up for the airport, we were served with a complementary pot of tea in the lounge. The concierge manager, Winstar Yang, was always polite and ready to assist in any way. I couldn't praise this hotel enough for the quality and courtesy of the service.
