Friend booked the restaurant and it was good. We shared all our dishes including eggplant schnitzel, fried cauliflower, a burger and a charcuterie board. We ordered way too much food for 3 people. The staff were friendly and we would have settled in but the table was rebooked.

We were really disappointed in our recent visit! We had reserved a table to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday with her grandparents and siblings (had presents etc). We went to order drinks and she ordered a cocktail and we ordered some wine - the waiter asked for her ID and unfortunately she had forgotten it. This was fine, we accepted it but she was very disappointed as it was a special meal. She then realised she had a photo of her passport from travel which she showed the waiter - clearly showing that it was in fact her 21st birthday that day. The Manager then came out and very rudely insisted that she wouldn’t accept that. Now, I understand if you weren’t sure she was over 18, but you can see we were celebrating her birthday with her grandparents and you’ve seen proof that she is legal. The behaviour of the Manager was just so nasty, ridiculous and unprofessional and really ruined our whole night. She didn’t have “proof” that the other 4 adults at the table were 18+ but she decided to die on this hill for no obvious reason? Maybe a power trip? The food this time was between unpleasant and good depending on the dish but the service was appalling! Shout out to the lovely waitress who apologised to my daughter for the Manager ruining her 21st birthday. She was the only pleasant one in the place.

My cousin and I went for dinner and drinks at Green Mans Arms. Very easy to get to, we got the tram there. Located in a great area with plenty of bars to go to afterwards. We ordered the banquet which is $40pp and 5 courses with the option of dessert as the fifth. We got the vegan option and straight away they asked us for any dietary requirements. The food was seasonal, fresh and full of flavour. The cocktails and wine were so delicious. Service was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Would recommend this place even if you aren’t vegetarian or vegan.

Vego Friends came down from the country and we wanted to try something different to transformer so we came here. Service was not great at all - big gaps in between courses and little explanation of the chefs menu we ordered. Very inexpensive at $40 pp but not much memorable food either. A tomato salad followed by a Caesar salad was a weird dinner option. We went out for cheese afterwards as we were all still hungry.

My daughter is vegetarian and often finds trouble finding suitable meals at most restaurants. However, the Green Man's Arms is fine dining that even carnivores can appreciate. The Green Man's Arms is fine dining that is really well done. It is at the top end of Lygon Street, it's easy to get to, the tram stops almost outside the door.
