Wow what an experience.The accomodation and meal were excellent with the views from the balloon spectacular.The pilot and ground crew were very professional and friendly. This is a must do experience.

Up, Up and Away

Review of: Yarra Valley Balloon Flight at Sunrise

We loved our Hot Air Ballooning and Champagne Breakfast last weekend. Our adventure was amazing. We enjoyed being part of helping set up and pack up the balloon. Our pilot Ronald and his support team we all very helpful. At no time did we feel unsafe or nervous. We we given very informative instructions before and during the experience. We floated above the Yarra Valley for just on an hour. Our whole experience took 5 hours from getting up near Blairgowrie Estate to getting back in the car to leave. Being on my bucket list I was not disappointed. We would highly recommended doing this flight. Do yourself a favour and support this business. An exceptional company to deal with and thank you from two very happy customers.

Yarra Valley balloon flight

A lovely way to spend a summer morning. Very friendly, competent staff and beautiful views. Made particularly easy by staying at Balgownie Estate the night before the flight which meant that we could get out of bed ten minutes before 5am and wander down to the meeting point in the winery restaurant. A bit of a risk if the flight is cancelled due to poor weather, but there are so many wineries to visit, it’s a gets place to stay anyway.

It's very convenient to stay on site where we meet each morning ad if the flight is cancelled due to weather, then you're right - so many things to see, do and taste. The local produce is divine! Majority of our passengers do drive though as it is a leisurely 50min drive from the city and most local suburbs too.

Beautiful

I was but sunsure about this as I’m not good with heights, but once you are up there, you feel as safe as houses. The price is high but you are paying for the safety of the company who are A1. Very professional and a perfect way to start the day.

We're so appreciative of your kind words and so happy to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your experience despite your fear of heights!

We pride ourselves on our safety record and are never complacent when it comes to the safety of our staff and passengers. We're the only company to run quarterly safety seminars which is all tracked by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) to stay on top of what the following season may bring and ensuring all regulations are thoroughly followed by all operations team members. We also have fortnightly operational meetings to ensure communication within the team is strong and we're not dropping the ball.

We have had a fair amount of passengers who have a fear of heights but like yourself, have always enjoyed the flight. I believe it helps that the flight is so smooth that you can't feel movement and you can look out, not down.

Great Experience!

Review of: Yarra Valley Balloon Flight at Sunrise

The staff are friendly and informative. Our driver Bambi shared a lot of interesting stories on our ways from/to the hotel, including why he no longer (wants to be called) Bruce ;). I'm so glad that we had the best pilot I've seen (compare to the other balloons), Ronald! We land smoothly and not as bumpy as I thought it would be. Watching the other balloons landed, I gotta say Ronald is the best! The ground staff (I think their name was Ronnie & Brendon) also really helpful on explaining the instructions. The experience it self is something that you should do at least once in your life time. The view was so beautiful. We had so much fun packing up the balloon at the end. The Champagne breakfast at Balgownie also good.
We got this RedBalloon vouchers as brithday gift 3 years ago and finally decide to do the hot air balloon and finally make the booking; we had to re-booked this trip couple of times due to COVID-19, but it's all worth it.
Recommendation: If you plan to stay over in the area, try to book the hotel for a couple of nights as the flight might get cancelled due to weather. Our original flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day.

That's a good tip! A lot of passengers also drive from home on the morning of their flight if they don't have the money to spend on accommodation.
