Owner description: Come aboard, relax and enjoy Tall Ship sailing within one of the world's most picturesque harbours. The Lady Nelson is a full size replica of the original England built Brig that the first settlers to Hobart arrived in. Short harbour sails provide a unique opportunity to experience tall ship sailing. Haul on a line, steer the ship, talk to the captain and crew or just relax and enjoy the magnificent views of Hobart. The Lady Nelson is available for private charter and offers multi-day sailing trips exploring places such as Port Arthur, Tasman Peninsular, Bruny Island and the d'Entrecasteaux Channel. The ship can also be booked as a unique waterside venue for functions, parties and historical talks.

The ship in the harbour at Elizabeth Street Pier (beside Fish Frenzy, which is where you should be having lunch) is a replica of the original The Lady Nelson. Definitely worth a look if you have the time and desire to see and touch it.

Today enjoyed a sail on Lake Victoria, Paynesville, Victoria. Even though the day was not favoured with ideal wind the day was excellent. The crew were helpful and friendly, happy to answer questions. A great experience to feel a little history.

The Lady Nelson is a beautiful replica of a late 1700s ship that sailed all the way from England to Tasmania on a cartography mission. It came to the end of its life when it was attacked by pirates in Indonesia, but thanks to an almighty effort in the 1980s, the Lady Nelson was replicated in near-exact condition. The all-volunteer crew offers gentle 90-minute sails into the Derwent River. For $30 it's a lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon in Hobart.

I recently took my 9 yo son out for a surprise trip on the Lady Nelson. I live in the Hobart area and this trip has been on the wish list for a long time. We had a fantastic time on the 3:00 pm sailing with beautiful sunny weather and a fine sea breeze. All of the crew were super friendly and participation was encouraged. Judy, the trip guide, was extremely helpful, encouraging and friendly. Absolutely loved the trip and will certainly look at going again sometime.

We had a wonderful 90 minute cruise with our family group of 9 - aged 11 to 73 years. Friendly crew, great fun, a chance to participate in helping the crew, stunning views… we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended
