After a long bus ride from Devenport I checked into The Old Woolstore on Easter Monday. The complex is deceptively large and the main entrance is tucked away on a main road. This was a rushed booking the night before arrival so I did not have high expectations other that the good reviews and close proximity to the waterfront.
The check in was quick and staff friendly. The room was a short walk from reception.
The standard room was large with a queen size bed that was not two single beds pushed together. There is plenty of storage in the room, a good sized bathroom (with bath) and a modern TV with movie channels. Everything worked. There was no view but I did not expect one.
There are other facilities onsite that I did not check out.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows soft. After my previous nights stay in Devenport I slept well in Hobart.
My room rate included breakfast and this was the only let down of my stay. With so many cafes and restaurants nearby I should have just eaten out.
For the price, location and comfort I would stay again. Maybe the studio room with a kitchenette next time.

Stayed here for one night with the family - booked 2 apartments. Lots of room, beds were comfortable and large, kitchen big, laundry with washing machine and drier - which was very handy. A great location as its close to the wharf, shops, restaurants, bars etc. Hotel staff were very accommodating in letting us park for the day in the carpark - thank you.

Room Tip: We didn't have a view as such but the rooms were nice and quiet which is what I wanted. Our apartments were on the 4th and 3rd floors.

For a last minute booking location, my friend and I were not holding much hope that we could get a good hotel in Hobart, more so being December. But we found this hotel on Booking.com and it was well priced even if the initial photos online showed a weathered property. So it was a real pleasant surprise that our 2 nights here went really well made up of a combo of location and excellent service.
We arrived into Hobart on what was one of the wettest mornings in December hoping to make the most of the day. We got caught in the rain from the airport and arrived at the hotel drenched. We asked if there was any way we could check in early and the lovely lady at reception said she would see what she could do. The room was being occupied but the guests were checking out at 10am and then it would have to be cleaned. So she suggested we can dry off and change in their toilets which we did and that we could go for breakfast and a wander at Salamanca Market. She took down our numbers and said as soon as the rooms were ready she would give us a call. She then gave us a map and 2 umbrellas and took care of our luggage to leave behind. We then went off to Salamanca and had a lovely morning wandering about despite the gloomy weather. True to her word, at 11.45am we got a call that our room was ready and we were welcome to check in so we wandered back and off we went to our room. It was in the new wing and on the top floor and it was spacious and clean and warm. Nothing was too hard for the staff when we requested extra towels and toiletries. Despite the hotel being at full capacity, there was a flow to the service and really friendly staff. We did not try the food at the hotel because we were in Hobart and wanted to experience all the cafes restaurants but the bar and restaurant looked modern and upbeat. We will definitely be staying at this property the next time we are in Hobart. Location was also spot on. It is not smack bang in the middle of the city centre so it was quiet but it's only 10minutes walk to the famous Muirs Fish & Chips and catching the Mona Ferry. And 12 minutes walk to Salamanca.
Despite the dreary rainy weather that we had while in Tassie, staying at the Old Woolstore Apartment made it pleasant.
