We had tickets to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Classics Unwrapped earlier in November at the Adelaide City Hall. Since we have been travelling around Australia for almost 6 months we didn’t carry finer clothes with us but we cleaned up as best we could to attend the event with friends. We certainly weren’t the best or the worst dressed but we had a grand time listening to the orchestra playing the fan favourites as decided by voting back in September. It was a lovely way to spend time with friends listening to great classical music and the venue was so close to our hotel it was excellent.

Just enjoyed the second of our ASO concerts this year. First one was Beethoven at the Adelaide Town Hall and today a matinee at Elder Hall, with conductor Nicholas Carter....both well subscribed and both amazing performances.... We are s fortunate to enjoy such music in our town...... Highly recommended if you can get tickets

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO)’s primary venue is Adelaide Town Hall. But from time to time they perform in Elder Hall. As their concerts in the Town Hall are always scheduled at night, I prefer to go to the one in Elder Hall during the day. For this year they’ve focussed their performance on Mozart at Elder Hall. General admission is $25.00.

We won some tickets (5AA) to the 'Russians' at the Adelaide Festival Theatre and had to collect our tickets from the ASO office on Hindley St,, parking can be difficult in that area. Getting our tickets was seamless and also identified myself as a 'sponsor' of the ASO,,, 'oh, that's nice' not even a smile. Gosh.

To the theatre last night, and it was just magnificent; nothing beats listening to orchestral music in just perfect surrounds. Beats the crap out of my stereo and CD collections.

Of note: I am almost certain I had not heard until last night, Rach's 1st Symphony; will go find it so I can enjoy it once again.

Both conductor and orchestra keep the audience enthralled.
Clearly passionate and love sharing their talent.
Took my 5 & 7 yr old nieces to the Christmas Proms- they loved it.
