Very run down resort, so much out of order. Bed with black mould and still expected to pay although couldn’t be used as it “had a sheet on it” according to staff Tim??? Staff appear they would rather be anywhere else.Avoid and stay elsewhere.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay on the island, however, my only regret was not staying for longer! Plenty to do and see. The food was good, in both the Sports Bar and the Resort Restaurant and the Cocktails were very yummy.

The island has great walks for different fitness levels. The walk to Nudie Island is great for adults and children and snorkelling is a must do. We enjoyed time by the pool and at the swim up bar. The customer service was however lacking throughout the resort for the price tag.

Easter 2021 - having just returning from the island after a much anticipated trip (4th attempt due to boarder closures) we were so excited to finally arrive at Fitzroy Island and was blown away by the natural beauty of the island.

The main beach is very clean and the bush walks are great (though tough going) to explore further of the island with amazing views of the surrounds.

We booked 5 nights in a Welcome Bay Suite at the Fitzroy Island Resort costing quite a bit of $$ wanting to spoil ourselves (advertised as luxurious). It is anything but luxurious!

While the room size was good and we had a lovely view from our 3rd floor apartment and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was lovely. I must say we were quite shocked to discover that the entire resort and our room was very tied and lacking in basic maintenance and care. So much is run down and requires a lot of attention. There is so much potential to be so much more.

Ours was a self contained apartment with a kitchen and laundry the kitchen lacked all basic cooking equipment, rust on much of the appliances, the bathroom not clean as well as the carpet in the bedroom. We had to repeatedly request for toiletries etc to be restocked as there was not a daily service. Most staff seemed pleasant enough but lacking good customer service and not really caring.

The food on offer at Foxy's was ok served quickly at busy times. The live entertainment was also good.

We did not appreciate the "COVID police attitude" by the staff and felt we were treated like idiots and the focus was only on mask wearing. We both fully appreciate and will adhere to any mandatory restrictions in place and my husband and I work in the medical field. I am also sure many people visiting the resort have been through true hard lockdowns and are fully aware of how to respond. Except for mask wearing no other COVID precautions that we observed were being adhered to at the same level ie: checking of covid check in, the use of hand sanitiser between customers and the lack of hand sanitiser available to the general public etc it was disappointing to experience this aggressive attitude.

While we had a relaxing stay due to the island feel and natural environment we will not be back to spend our $$ at this resort.

We eloped on Fitzroy Island and it was the best thing we've ever done. The island itself is incredible, the resort was amazing, the suite was beyond anything we expected. We can't wait to go back.

Right from the first time we contacted Fitzroy to enquire about eloping, the staff were friendly and very responsive. The Fitzroy Flyer was a cool way to start our trip and it was really nice of them to bring our bags up to the resort for us.

Upon arriving at the resort, we were already blown away. The natural environment surrounding Fitzroy Island Resort is beautiful and the resort is built to integrate beautifully with the landscape. The Welcome Bay Suite we stayed in was amazing. It was clean and modern with laundry facilities in the room. The best thing about the room was the view! What a stunner.
