A hidden gem this island getaway is only a 45 min fast catamaran ride from Cairns marina! Excellent service from moment stepped on catamaran with our bags taken care of. Room was ready on checkin. Room had no balcony and faced rainforest so very dark inside however didn’t spend any time in room except to change and sleep. Other room categories available but we were a couple so didn’t need kitchen facilities. Our tariff included full buffet breakfast daily in the restaurant overlooking the beach! Excellent array of food and a choice to 2 restaurants for dinner. Foxys bar and grill had great burgers and cocktails with entertainment Friday and sat nite! Snorkelling off beach was great with an abundance of reef fish and turtles! Nudies beach is a short walk thru rainforest and a beautiful beach to swim and snorkel! Pool had swim up bar and plenty do on island with dive hire and glass bottom boat viewing! The rehab Turtle clinic is a must to learn about the turtles! We went at end of stinger season so did not need suits! Thoroughly recommend and shall return another time

We were really looking forward to this day trip with the hope of going on a longer holiday in the future. We were really glad we did so we wont have to bother going back. The island is grubby and really needs a bit of TLC, the benches at the bar have black grime on them they havent been cleaned for years same as the glass door going into the shop filthy inside and out, there is no excuse for that. We went with Fitzroy Island Adventures it wasn't very professional looks like it's run by a group of backpackers, there was one in particular that was very rude he was a blonde haired pommy, it was lunchtime he was handing out the lunches and I asked a question about a special order he said dont ask me I'm a marine biologist and turned his back, sorry Mr. High and mighty I don't give a damn I'm a paying customer and only wanted what I ordered, at least there was a lovely young lady that heard this and couldn't do enough, I wish I could remember her name. There is no way we would go back until things had at least been cleaned, it's such a shame as the island itself is glorious!!!!!!!

The accomodation is priced like it is 5 star accomodation but it is average budget style accomodation, certainly not worth the money, beds only had sheets not even a quilt or bed cover? You would think they could afford better bedding/linens on the amount they charge per night. You also have to pay for wifi- yet there is only reception out the front of the hotel? Why pay for poor service? Once again you would think at the price they charge per night they would spend some money on modems wifi connections? They charge for everything, even bag storage. Go to green Island as it may be more expensive per night but no add on’s everything is included, activities, glass bottom boat etc, at Fitzroy island resort the food is terrible and overpriced and the service is terrible also. Housekeeper staff member opened our door at 7am looked in and then apologised? Children run up and down the platforms from early hours - we were awake from 6am due to this. Pool is the worse kept pool I have ever seen, we refused to swim in it! Please use a steel broom on your pool walls- there is no excuse with the amount they charge per night to have such an unkept, unclean pool! Also only about 14 lounges yet hundreds of guests so it’s a bit like a cattle yard in the pool and also on check in and check out due to everyone arriving at once- you will stand in line for everything. Do a day trip, take a picnic lunch. I would not recommend anyone to stay here if I came again I would just visit the Island for a day trip, you live and learn. This resort is very disappointing and lets the Island down so definitely don’t stay here!

What an exceptional place heaven.
Stayed three nights and certainly didn’t want to leave the island.
Can’t say enough good about it you must visit.
Certainly be returning.

John and i had an amazing stay on the island. The staff felt like family. Very professional and welcoming. The food was amazing and any requests were tended to immediately. Almost cried when we left. Chloe and the team will be sorely missed. Hope we can return again with friends soon.
