Yes. You should eat banh mi from Rusty's Markets.

Also the fruit and vegetables and other stuff is great, but definitely get a banh mi while you are there.

When we first arrived at the huge sign over the entrance we thought is was a bunch of vendors selling the same stuff all the souvenir shops carried. We persevered and finally reached the produce market. All the local Australian fruits were represented. Not grown locally but brought in quite fresh and in huge varieties and quantities. 20 vendors may be selling the same six variety of bananas so looking for the best price is the art of the deal. Those that give samples have the best opportunity to sell.

some nice ethnic take away - bit pricey super markets are cheaper on most things over all very expensive prices all around but if you have the money some of the ethnic foods are pretty genuine... except for the German sausage stall LOL - but OK if you have never had the real thing

Stall holder told me all produce came from Brisbane?
Aisles need widening, more fans needed. Smoking should be banned around the market.
Otherwise, smells good, fruit and veg.generally fresher than supermarket. Take lots of change and be patient.

You have to go all the way through to get to the interesting part (at least for me). The department of tropical fruits. Right now huge and juicy mangoes are in season, and they’re dirt cheap, something which is very rare in Australia. Dragonfruit, papaya, jackfruit, passionfruit (very delicious here!), all very abundant and affordable.
What makes me wonder is why tomatoes and peppers are so redicolusly expensive here....
Rusty’s Market is open on fridays, saturdays and sundays, and is a great option if you’re self-catering.
