Bar Barossa is a bit of a favorite of the people from Brisbane town - it's very entertaining for taking clients out to lunch or an after work drink, or just relaxing on a Friday night with the missus or mates. I would definitely rate the wine better than the food, but that is not to say that the staff don't dry their darned hardest! Service is good old Queensland style, not over bearing and no-one constantly hassling you to move on to free up a table.

I do not normally write reviews on restaurants unless very pleased or disappointed.

I had one of my best meals at this restaurant. It was for lunch. Being there for business and letting the locals guide me we went here for a meal. Very good atmosphere, not pretentious, and simply perfect for our little business lunch. It was not busy on this day with only 4 groups of people in the restaurant.

As I was from out of town I asked him what he was known for in the entree department. Scallops it is then. I must say that I have eaten Scallops all over the world and these to me were equal best with a dish that I had once upon a time in France. I love scallops and these were simply irresistible.

For mains I had the medium rare eye fillet which was also superb.

Wine list is extensive, good to great wines and the prices reflect this. You can find a good bottle for $60. Although if you want to spend a lot more there are many many options for you.

Service was exceptional with right balance of making sure everything is right, topping up wine glasses without being intrusive and ensuring the meals came out at a good pace.

I do not have anything negative to say about this place. All 4 of us were extremely happy. I will definitely be going back when I go back to Brisbane.

I have been eating out every single night in Brisbane for nearly six weeks and this restaurant is without a doubt the best one. I've tried other well known ones, which I have also nicely rated, but Bar Barossa food and wine, plus a fantastic decoration and atmosphere is the place to go for an evening meal with your partner or a couple of friends. You can tell that every ingredient is of the best quality and has been cooked really nicely and carefully presented. Also, it's the right amount of food in each plate. Their list of wines is amazing, no more needed to say.
Staff is also fabulous and know what they are doing and how to make the customer feel comfortable from the moment you step in (I've seen very disoriented and lost staff in other restaurants in the city, or grumpy when greeting customers).
Can't wait to go today for lunch and have some of their delicious cheese with a glass of wine.

The food and service were excellent. Bar Barossa has a very nice wine list. The setting is intimate and cozy. Take a walk along the river afterwards.

Four business colleagues joined me for a meal and discussion. Service was very good and the food memorable. The beef cheek I had was delicious and the portions adequate without being excessive. The friendly waiter helped us with the wine choice and was always ready when we needed something but wisely left us be when we were deep in discussion.
Prices were OK at $32 to $35 for mains and the wine was excellent.
