We used to yearly stay here for a treat, years ago, dinner few drinks, bit of A flutter, this weekend it was a work function so we knew too book well in advance or catch a Taxi home, we arrived early ready to chillax, the room smelt of mould, like a mould bat to the face, not a great start, we did get moved though, it didn't feel like we were being fussy, so kudos to the staff. The rooms We're nice enough, dated but ok, it's not until you walk around and have a good look that you notice the lack of maintenance, it had such a good reputation it would be good to see her get back to her former glory, you pay enough for it

Stayed for 2 nights. Been a few times but.. This time at the Vue taken to our seats, presentation of food and dessert looked great. All tasted so good with fruit and cheese included. Prawns and oysters A 1. Quick to clear used dishes and smiles Thank you!

We spent two nights at the Skycity Hotel in Darwin about a week ago as part of our drive around Australia. A friend of a friend was able to secure us a nice friends and family rate so we took advantage of it and got a bit spoiled on the luxury treatment we received there. Most of the staff were great, some seemed really laid-back like even more so than those we met in Jamaica a few years back who are permanently on island-time. We had a great room for our stay, well appointed, clean and quiet. The on-site amenities are great too, excellent pools, nice beach, good restaurants and fabulous spa that we got some treatments done at. The hotel is well located too so we could do a lot of sightseeing on foot in the area. Overall a pretty good stay, aside from some grumpy staff and some peeling paint this is a good place to lay your head.

On the down side, it is rather dated- the room could do with an update. The car park is a bit of a walk from the hotel. The view from some of the rooms is disappointing (ours overlooked the back of the restaurant). However, on the plus side the staff were great, the location near the beach and markets, the resources excellent (the pools, the restaurants, the day spa). The rooms were clean and well fitted out and the regular cleaners did a great job. Expensive and the next time will ask for a room with a better view.
