The rooms are large and very comfortable, and clean. The pool area is great and the pool itself lovely and cool. The grounds are really nice and all of the common areas too. Staff are friendly. Internet is good. location is good, very short walk to the town centre.

However, the service is a bit lack luster. We had to call multiple times to get our room cleaned. Our request for late checkout was never answered nor followed up. Food quality - buffet and room service - is very ordinary and some of the same dishes as offered in the town square cafes. It is the same operator afterall and the same staff too! But for the prices paid and the quality of the hotel you expect MUCH better food

Stayed here for four nights with a 2 year old and 7 year old. The rooms were nice, however we constantly had ants walking through the bed and over the luggage racks- can’t be helped in that climate, I guess. We ate mostly at Gecko’s, or whatever the cafe was. Meals were nice. Had room service twice- $8 surcharge is added to every order. I found this to be ridiculous when everything was already so expensive as it was. The IGA supermarket in the town square was not too bad- they have chickens cooked twice per day, so it’s good for a quick and cheap meal.
They are short staffed, which I discovered when I asked for the early servicing of my room, so that I could put my 2 year old to sleep after lunch. Room didn’t get serviced til after 4.30pm, and that was because I found a male who looked like a groundsman helping the room attendant. He said to me, ‘sorry. We’ve had two call in sick and we are trying to get the check ins done first’. A paying guest doesn’t really appreciate staffing issues when they are paying a premium to stay there and expect service that reflects the room rate. This was a once off- the room attendants were flat chat everyday we were there and clearly had too much on their plates.

It was a very special stay at Sails in the Desert. The rooms have been totally updated and are modern and refreshed and of a good size. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well equipped with toiletries which were replenished daily. The resort is very attractive and well laid out. The pool areas is great for relaxing before or after a day out touring! The restaurant only offers buffet style breakfast and dinner options but there is an excellent range of quality food options. Room service is very efficient and nothing is any trouble. The staff in all areas are very friendly and helpful! Overall a most pleasant experience for our "bucket list" visit to Uluru!

Room tip: All rooms have an outlook over a green are or the pool - suggest away from the pool if you dont want some noise from kids around the pool!

As an Italian living in Australia for the last 35 years a visit to Uluru was definitely due.We packed the all family, including the grandchildren, all 4 of them and flew to see the famous Ayers Rock. This hotel is within a few minutes from the airport situated in an area called Yulara. We were treated very well at this resort, kids loved it because it had a large and a small pool, the staff was very helpful and professional, rooms are very spacious, extra clean and had a balcony where you can admire the changing colours of the desert. In the room basic tea and coffee is provided, you can have room service of course but unfortunately, and can’t understand why,the fridge is empty.Buffet meals are quite good,we only had 2,breakfast is too expensive for the little ones so we had it somewhere else, there are very close by a few restaurants and a coffee shop, you can buy other things at a supermarket. We did many tours and saw as much as anyone can in the 5 days we spent there.

Room tip: Try to get one facing the desert
