Went to fish market and tried Doyle's very average. Lobster Monday seems to be available in all places but sauce too overpowering. Soft shell crab too greasy and too much batter. Better fish dishes available in restaurants at Barangaroo.

We went to the fish market to eat at Doyle’s given their good reputation. The food was good and reasonably priced but portions were small and there was no atmosphere. It is self service and you had to go three different places to get food, raw shellfish and drinks. Afterwards we went further into the fish market and saw better presentation of foods and wished we looked around more in picking where to eat.

We arrived about 2.15 on Friday afternoon ,the eating area was busy but we managed to find a table. We ordered two John Dorey and chips which also came with some lettuce and tomato. The fish was well fried and I thought the chips excellent. The eating area was filthy both the tables and the floor . No staff cleaned while we were eating and the tables were left to the birds. Some guests resorted to throwing oyster shells at them whilst others took photographs particularly of the Ibis.
The drinks are ordered separately from the food and our lemon, lime and bitters were served in what we felt small measures .
Overall a disappointing experience and one that is not cheap. At those prices at least the tables and the floors should be kept clean !

Have been here in the past when it was a restaurant. Tried the new “bistro” style which looked more relaxed but it was way too casual. Communal tables, extremely uncomfortable seating. Partner ordered food from BBQ, was a bit of a wait considering there were no other customers. Salmon was nice, prawn was delicious but squid and octopus was tasteless, chewy and cold. Service at bar was odd. I ordered but was asked after I ordered “Are you dining with us?”. Um, yes! Very odd, made me feel unwelcome. It was odd. Overall a very average experience.
