Rose of Australia Hotel
Ranked #110 of 523 Quick Bites in Sydney
Description: Established in 1874 and rebuilt by Tooth & Co in 1932, the Rose of Australia is a historical piece of architecture. The Art Deco influence still remains in the original tiled walls, island bar with famous foot trough. Located in the heart of Erskineville village this local boozer has remained in the hands of the Leach Family for the past 22 years. Scott, Clare and Elissa are hands on publicans so don't miss the chance to meet them, listen to stories and perhaps help create a legend. Recent refurbishments have placed this hotel at the creative edge of food and beverage whilst still offering all the services you expect from your local. No visit to Erskineville is complete without popping in for a beverage, where you might be asked to 'name your poison'.

The food here is incredible - I was lucky enough to come in an try a whole heap of things off the new menu. Not only did the food present very well but the staff were super friendly and the decor is beautiful!

I love this pub. It's always busy and has a great atmosphere.

Took my parents here for dinner on Friday night and it was so busy we had to sit at the bar. Being Scottish, what did we care.

Food was amazing as always. Plentiful and substantial, with great service.

One lovely part was watching the cal efficiency of the bar staff, something we don't always do. There were only three and they killed it! Absolutely killed it. Really busy and made it look so easy.

Fab place...

Fab food, excellent value. T bone steaks, succulent and great value at $15. Chicken parmigiana excellent at $22 and for the light eaters grilled chicken breast and green beans light and tasty. Add some onion rings and a brilliant inexpensive lunch
Alcohol expensive though with tap beer and wines a tad over priced.
Great service, friendly staff, clean Loos.

Visited today for lunch, good menu choice from salads, burgers, steak and nachos probably something on the menu for everyone and reasonably priced.
There are good selection of tables outside and plenty of seats inside.
Had the burger and beer battered fries was awesome..
Staff are friendly and attentive.
Worth a visit.
Will be coming back before heading back to the uk.
