The shared table is cleverly designed with flaps that allow for easy entry and exiting. I normally give detail as to food items but as this team led by the Owner Michael specialise in their iwn unique fusion style i feel it is superfluous. Suffice to say each and every dish brought to us was simply superb ! Delicious, delectable and different. Michael looks younger than his years but he has the intelligent charm and humour of an old timer well versed in relaxing travellers from all over the world. We sat opposite each other and adjacent were two couples from Singapore. Obviously well heeled and obviously Foodies. They cleaned up piles of food as did we. The whole table was enjoying themselves and not a grumble was detected. Michael even shared a bottle of French desert wine with us as we had bantered about our bnb host. Never mind what changes on the menu just trust Michael and his mates. These Chefs deserve their success. Thanks again for a memorable lunch.

Seldom have I experienced such well considered and presented food for such a reasonable price
The long table might not suit everybody and isn’t terribly intimate but on a summer night the outside tables offer a little more privacy
Starters included a fine pate served with an ultra fresh baguette and pickles with exquisite tapioca dumplings and an aioli dip. The piece de resistance in our mind was the tuna with pea purée which was utterly sensational. Mains offered ultra delicate beef cheeks which might have benefitted from a red wine jus if I am picky but the chargrilled vegetables and roast potatoes were delightful and plentiful. Dessert was a modest let down but that might have been a result of stomachs at capacity

Overall exceptional and for $60 per head an absolute steal. Service was attentive and every effort made to accommodate diverse preferences

This would be a perfect venue for a family or work venue at an ultra reasonable price - it deserves its 1st place with Tripadvisor - that tuna dish alone was worth the trip

My husband and I visited this fabulous restaurant 4 weeks ago while on a visit to Sydney. We wanted to enjoy an evening out and found the Farmhouse on tripadvisor and immediately noted the similarities with our own son's restaurant at home eg. small, set menu, wonderful food. I had read in the reviews that it may be difficult to get a last minute booking but with crossed fingers messaged Mike and was able to secure 2 places for the following night at 8.30. We were not disappointed, each course was a delight but our stand out dishes were the Spanner crab (out of this world), lamb shoulder with mash, Brussels sprouts, roasted carrots with garlic ( tender and tasty) and dessert Beet, chocolate and coconut granita (heavenly). Each course was served attentively without being intrusive. We finished the evening with a personal chat with Mike discussing his influences and ambitions and it was wonderful to see his passion shining through. We wish him and his colleagues all the best for the future and will recommend the Farmhouse to all our Australian (and English) friends.

Authentic service.
Authentic food.
Authentic people.
Mike has established a well oiled machine.
All the time, including the process of booking, being invited to advise any dietary peculiarities or cooking preferences, having the personalised manner of being shown to our seats on arrival, inquiring (but not invasively) how our meals are as we progressed, the generous and delicious meals, the very nice wines available, and...Mike. It all delivered a very contented and satisfying experience. We've eaten at some wonderful places around the world, including some very expensive ones, and my wife and I agreed on the spot, that this was the best dining out we have ever had. We have no reason to return to Sydney anytime soon, however, Farmhouse gives us a big incentive to do so!
Besides the most excellent food, and service, it was great just to see a small house of staff, always at it, to make such a wonderful experience occur. Every little detail is attended to, by everyone. I saw the occasional glass, plate or cutlery, that was being dried and polished by any of the staff (including Mike the owner) being returned to the washer for any small imperfection - I thought this just reflected the uncompromising quality of everything at this restaurant. Its obvious that the value they deliver here is backed up by some great core values in the team. Well done.
If you're looking for treating anyone, and I mean, even the fussiest, most fickle, and difficult to cater for people, and you're wondering how you might afford to do so, then look no further than the Farmhouse. It really is the best.

One of our favorite dining experiences we’ve had. Mike was so helpful in responding to emails beforehand to see if they could accommodate someone with celiac. We were worried about the whole communal table setting, but you aren’t sharing with strangers, just with everyone in your group, so it was not hard to accommodate since it was just two people. We played some back and forth on the phone (due to a 16 hour time difference) to make a reservation, but he was patient throughout. When we arrived, Mike walked us through the menu and through the allergy accommodations, showing an attentiveness, friendliness, and down-to-earthness that would be on display throughout the night. The restaurant is tiny, but it adds to the atmosphere and we loved the way the table works to let people against the wall in and out. The food was some of the best we have had - an interesting blend of influences and it was hard to pick out a favorite, especially with the numerous components to the main dish. The food was plentiful, but the price was incredibly affordable for the amount and quality of what we received. Many other places would be charging twice the price. If we return to Sydney, this is a place we will definitely be going back to.
