Last week in December I went for dinner at this restaurant. This is not my first vizit.
Everytime when I passed Batam island, I always go to this very special place and they are always bussy if not full house. The "Asam pedas" (typically Malay speciality) is delicious.
The vegetable are fresh and their limejus is perfect. The lime is from local sort (limau kesturi) and the juice taste really from a good lime extract. The service as well goed and the price is not that bad to compare the price of seafood at the neighbour country such as Singapore.
The restaurant is located at the beach but stand on the sea. Thus it stand at a pole house. The restaurant located only 30 minutes from the airport of Batam, Hang Nadim.

4 of us went to Rezeki for lunch because of some positive reviews we heard and we were not disappointed. We had Crab, Prawns, Fish, scallops, calamari, hotplate beancurd and sambal kangkong and total bill came up to about 1mio IDR and we had to take a break from seafood for a few days as we barely managed to finish all we ordered.

Rezeki's has been our regular restaurant since making Batam our home in 1994 - the restaurant is built over the sea on stilts which gives an ethnic atmosphere to an enjoyable very reasonably priced meal. Food on offer ranges from very pungent and spicy Indonesian food to less spicy but equally delicious Chinese fare - Rezeki is owned and run by a Cinese family who know their regular customers by name and who are always interested in knowing how life is treating them. This restaurant has been around for many years and because of the quality of their food they are still able to compete on price and quality against the newer restaurants that have come along to cater for Batam's very vibrant economy. A point to remember this can be a busy restaurant so if you are after their Seafood dishes you are better to call ahead to make sure they have something left for you.

Summary: Much smaller place compared to Golden Prawn 555, but food is probably better.

A good place to go if you are staying in Nongsa area (Montingo, Turi Beach, Nongsa Point) since its only 5-15mins drive away. Probably can hire a cab from the hotel for about IDR50,000-80,000. Can also hire a cab from Nagoya for about IDR150,000-180,000 (negotiate the price, I might have overpaid). The cab drivers all seems to know this place, so offering the name of the restaurant will be sufficient (dont need the address).
However, getting out of the restaurant may be problematic if you dont have your own car/driver waiting for you. Luckily, the Chinese lady at the counter was really nice to help us get a cab.

Some of the seafood is obviously fresh, since the prawns, fish and crabs were probably swimming/crawling in front of you moments ago. Cant say for all seafood though, as the live seafood place obviously cant contain all the seafood they sell. Anyway, long story cut short, the crayfish we had was not fresh, and small. I feel we paid mainly for the shells, since the meat from some of the crayfish is even lesser than that from a prawn. Some Johor Bahru places serve better food.

Price wise, its okay compared to Turi Beach dinner. Probably better to eat in a mall in town. Coconuts and drinks are about IDR20,000 each, plate of small kangkong about IDR50,000. I think half a kg of crayfish for about IDR120,000 but seafood prices could be seasonal since prices are not reflected on the menu.

** Probably will not visit this place again.

Went to the restaurant as i have heard some great reviews. Upon arrival i was not welcomed nor was i greeted by anyone of their staffs. Only when we headed in and seated ourselves did they started to entertained us. Order was fast but the the quality of the taste of the dishes was subpar. Did not meet my expectations from all the hype.

Price was too expensive for the amount of dishes we chose. A small sized lobster costed a bomb. That really took us aback. Not sure if because we were tourists and were overcharged. That was my main gripe with the place. Location wise was ok as it was facing the sea. But do choose your seatings carefully as there are more flies as you seat near to the sea. Be sure that you have made transport arrangements for your trip back as taxis are hard to come by. All in all it was a acceptable but not recommended as there are plenty of seafood options in Batam.
