Nice value beachfront hotel marred by a busy/noisy road.

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 5, 2024
My wife and I stayed 3 nights, using the hotel’s professional and seamless Southwest Tours transfer service($72 RT for 2 with bus, private boat & van) from the MPH Airport, arriving at 2PM. This transfer process is cumbersome even with just our 2 carryon bags.
A nice receptionist processed our prepaid check in, copied our passports, while we signed a rules form, paid a 1,000 P peso deposit, got our key card, and took the elevator to the 3rd floor.
Room # 313 was a bit small but contained all the necessities; a comfortable queen, small table and 2 chairs, small clothes hanger, small stand with hot pot, water, refer, large TV with Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN and ~40 more clear channels, quiet AC and good lighting/outlets.
The bathroom was tight with limited storage and a nice toilet but we didn’t like the tight shower that was open to the rest of the bathroom.
The window wall faced the overheating sun during the day(the lone key card operated the AC), but provided a long water view across the busy/noisy road and over the hotel’s beach facility. The sunset is outstanding with 40+ blue-sail outriggers plying offshore from White Beach.
Coupons were provided for the adequate 7AM breakfast with a choice of 4 different preparations with meats or fish with an egg, rice, coffee and water. There is a choice of eating in a room with AC or outside with a great beach view.
Pool towels were available for their shallow indoor pool and beach mats for the sand.
We enjoyed the central location of this value hotel near Willy's Rock, ¾ mile from the north end of White Beach and over a mile from the bustling evening night crawl at the south end.
Date of stay: February 2024
Room Tip: Avoid the road noise.

We had a great stay for 3 night at Diamond Water Edge. The staffs are accommodating and warm. They provide beach towels and mat for free. The beach front is not that crowd since there's no trees for people to stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

We had a group of 16 stay on Station 1 at Boracay at Diamond Edge, there are 2 buildings. The new building is right on the beach, which is amazing. If you can, stay there, the sunset is at your door and the swimming pool is right under you. The only thing they can improve on is their Breakfast in the morning, but everything from the transfer and beyond was fantastic.

Room tip: You can walk to station 2 which takes 10 minutes or travel by Tuktuk for 30 pesos per person. Staton 1 is a bit quieter, which I preferred

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:

The Good:
Staff is very friendly and helpful
The beds are very comfortable and the aircon is good
The amenities like bath wash, shampoo and conditioner are great
The Shower is very nice and the beach location the best

The Bad:
The bathroom is crampy, the washbasin too small and not accessible due to the rack with hooks on top of it!
To reach the beach you must cross the busy road going there and going back
There is NO outdoor pool despite the advertisement and the indoor pool is more like a bathtub for children.
The Photos on the web side of Agoda are not representing the reality, they are angled in a way that everything looks bigger, larger, nicer than in real time
The Ugly:
Since payment is made you cannot cancel and complains are not honored, you are STUCK !!!

Room tip: there are better hotels for same price , do not believe the photos you see on the web sides, they are all made with a perfect angle

My first stay was me and hubby last Feb 2023. Because I loved the location, I brought my kids too and for 6days July 6 thru 12. And they also liked it coz of the beachfront location, cleanliness and staff. If they will serve better breakfast, this would be a 5 Star. It was plated back in Feb but turned into 1 serving buffet . Please stop serving the corned beef. :D
Overall, we will be back for sure in Boracay and will still choose their beachfront hotel. Kudos too to their staff named Fritz. He is so masipag and was too busy but still helped us inflate our salbabida. The rest of the staff are all courteous and friendly. See you again soon DWEH.

My family went to Boracay last June and we stayed at Diamond Water Edge

They have the best location because of the beach view even from the main building, we booked Premier Suite room. It's actually good for a family of 5 as it's spacious but they only allowed up to 3. Maybe you can contact them if you want to add more

Room itself and bathroom are clean. The toiletries have good scent and their bed is very relaxing

Their staff are hospitable and polite

My negative comment would be the breakfast since it's not buffet and you're only allowed to get once, but they'll charge you if you have leftover. Non-sense. You should improve your breakfast menu and process because breakfast is the most important meal of the day and most travelers are really after this. Your food tho is good and tasty. Also, they charged us for borrowing utensils such as plate and cutleries even if we used it inside the room.

Nonetheless, the stay was pleasant.
