My wife and I stayed only 1 night at Castle dell'Aquila but we shall return on our next trp to Italy.
Gabriella is a wonderful host who regaled us with the castle history and her ongoing restoration of what was a pile of rubble to the beautifuly restored building it is now.
The building is restored in the original style with modern conveniences incorporated with the resident murder victim also on display, well a copy of his bones are there.
The castle is set above the village of Gragnola, whilst we were there a storm had turned the normally trickling river into a raging torrent which was audible from the heights of the tower.
