When booking we requested a quiet room which was promptly acknowledged and promised. Upon arrival on a very, very hot day we are welcomed by a smiling Rose on reception. She advised that the room they had allocated to us was extremely hot but did have an alternative that was potentially not quite so quiet but much cooler. She happily took us to see the room so we could decide. Harriet was a lovely room ( an upgrade at no extra cost ) cool and was very quiet during our 1 night stay. The room had everything we needed and was nice and clean, bed and arm chairs nice and comfortable. We had supper in the lounge which was very tasty and portions were quite large. Cooked breakfast was again very good and was lovely to start the day in a relaxing environment. It was a pleasure to stay in a hotel where staff were all polite, proffessional, happy and smartly dressed. Would like to thank Rose as nothing was too much trouble when she dealt with our requests. Look forward to returning in the future.

Only staying one night whilst passing through, but what a find. We're staying in the Tisane room which has a stunning bedroom with private courtyard. We had a lovely evening enjoying the courtyard with a glass of wine.

Reasonably priced accommodation, lots of attention to small details and professional, friendly staff. Perfect!

The room was very comfortable although before long will need decorating.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I must say that the hotel is a bit “up it’s self”, fine to offer different blends of coffee and teas but offer hot chocolate with different percentages of cocoa, come on.
A bit over priced but it seems people are happy to pay these prices.

Had one night only in The Regalia room, which was extremely comfortable and equipped with everything you could wish for. The deal included Strawberries and Pimms on arrival, which turned out to be a superb Pimms and very tasty strawberries. The hotel was nice and quiet; ideal for a relaxing stay, and a good pot of tea on the terrace was most enjoyable after a stroll round the grounds. Breakfast was again everything you could wish for. All the staff were very skilled, nicely presented (difficult to find that these days, as even the highest priced hotels can sometimes overlook that sort of detail), and were never anything but helpful and polite. I suppose I had better mention the dinner - I could certainly get very used to eating food of that quality, it was beautifully presented, an excellent selection from the Amuse Bouche onwards. Too many stays here would require a lot of dedicated slimming afterwards, but suffice it to say we are even now planning our next visit. It is not the cheapest place on earth, but true quality only comes at a price, and it is well worth paying that bit more. Just do it.

What is on offer at Hintlesham Hall has to be experienced to be believed. Robert Carrier , the original celebrity chef owner , when he asked people why they came to Hintlesham Hall used to be disappointed that the grandiose setting seemed to be the reason rather than the cuisine.
Nowadays the service , the value , the cuisine matches the wonderful Hall and its surroundings making this a place to visit for any occasion rather than just special occasions.
There are lounges with huge sofas , a library of antiquated books ,a bar area, the herb and rose gardens and outside seating on the lawns plus various spa treatments on offer. The prices are set to please everyone from those that like top quality fine wine to those that prefer wine that suits a smaller budget.
Service wise the staff make a real effort to ensure your stay is wonderfully relaxing. We were looked after by Uri , the manager, as soon as we walked through the door and by Julia during the evening meal .Nothing is too much effort for these guys and it's easy to see why this place is so popular .
All in all we had a great time and without spending more than we can afford.
Look out for the offers and the events at the Hall on their website.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the garden areas have the best view. Always the possibility of an upgrade too when you arrive.
