Wrzelowiecki Park Krajobrazowy (Wrzelowiec Landscape Park) was established in 1990. In the area we can find picturesque brinks of Wisła River’s valley, impressive loess ravines (e.g. In Kluczkowice), dry valleys, sand dunes which make the terrain extremely varied.
One of the most characteristic places in the Park is former quarry, located south from Potrawin village (near Kaliszany-Kolonia village). The picturesque view of white calcareous rocks (even 40 meters high) full of fossils from the end of Cretaceous period and beautiful panorama of Wisła River with its valley and wild sandy beaches make it a place really worth seeing.
Almost 40 per cent of the Park’s area is covered with forests. The Park’s forests are wonderful places for relaxing walks, picking mushrooms (boletus, birch bolete, chanterelle, honey fungus) and berry-picking. In the forest you can meet wild animals such as deers, boars, badgers, foxes or elks. In the park there is protected nesting point of a black stork, highly endangered species which is under strict protection in Poland.
Loess lavines around Kluczkowice are also very beautiful, calming places for a walking trip.
The Park’s landscape is full of orchards (as the climate is mild and soils are rich) and wild meadows where we can find a lot of interesting and rare flowers and plants.

A lot of great, old trees (mostly oaks) can be found in Kluczkowice and Wrzelowiec. The oaks are protected as monuments of nature.

Besides wildlife, in the Wrzelowiec Landscape Park we can find a lot of examples of Polish rural architecture – beautiful wooden houses in Kluczkowice and Wrzelowiec, villages. In Kluczkowice there is a 19th century palace surrounded with a lovely park with colourful flowers and old trees. You can visit also a similar park in Józefów (architecture from a beginning of 20th century).
Tourists interested in sacred architecture will not be disappointed – there are a lot of beautiful churches and a monastery: gothic church from 15th century in Piotrowin, baroque church and Bernardine monastery from 18th century in Józefów, 18th century church in Wrzelowiec.

There are several bicycle trails through the Park.

The Park is located close to well-known touristic attractions such as Kazimierz nad Wisłą or Nałęczów.
