We were lucky to be able to eat here because the road to Big Sur had just reopened after huge fires. You could still smell smoke in the air. Nevertheless, we had heard of this restaurant and wanted to go there. After our drive to Big Sur and then turning around to go back to Monterey, we stopped here for a late lunch. The food was tasty but I think it's the view that sets this place apart. We sat outside at a counter along the railing overlooking the Pacific Ocean from atop a cliff. The place was crowded but the service was good and speedy. There's an option to sit inside but why would anyone want to when you could sit and admire that view? There's also a cute little gift shop you can visit after you eat. It contains a lot of items you can find in any gift shop but also some unique items from local artists. We'll definitely go out of our way to go here again when we return for another visit to CA.
