Stayed for 2 nights over Easter weekend. New owners are lovely and served a fantastic full English in the morning.

Rooms were spotless and very comfy, would definitely return!

Called in on our way back from Scarborough, having been a few times before. Was surprised to find it has very recently changed hands and the new owners are just getting organised and as yet don’t have a full menu just a few items.

While unsure, we ordered steak pie and chips also sausages in onion gravy with vegetables.

The quality of the pie and the sausages was excellent, decent vegetables and chips.

Wish the new owners the very best for the future, if the quality of what was presented this evening is a guide then they should do well.

We booked a lunch for 2 families both with children. One family was running late and arrived after the table had been booked but there was literally only ya and another table dining. Once the food was ordered we did have to wait quite a long time, I understand it’s cooked fresh and I think there’s only one guy cooking bit we had rather grumpy children by the time it came. One member of the party returned their meal, it was a burger but not a home made one you can get at other pubs locally. The rest of us all had ok meals, my husband commented his was nice but there wasn’t enough of it. I had a goats cheese tart, it was ok, nothing spectacular but certainly not horrible. I probably won’t return as we are blessed with some delicious places that I would visit above this place but if you’d like a decent meal and not in a rush I wouldn’t dismiss it.

We didn't eat here but spent one night in the lovely room 1 when in the area for a party. Nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. We were offered an ice bucket without having to ask when they spotted a bottle we were carrying. Comfy bed and a great nights sleep. Thanks.

Had to wait a long time for starters with no apology when finally served. Only one vegetarian option which, when it came, was dry and quite uninteresting. One of our party ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon and was served white wine!! Don't think we'll be back.
