It's said that walking beside water is good for your well being so I would definitely recommend a walk beside the River Lea.

The towpath is in very good condition but watch out for cyclists coming up behind you.

There's plenty of lovely scenery to enjoy as well as the wild life.

Very relaxing.

Lovely river to have a scenic walk on. Great for a leisurely wander, especially if the weather is nice.

After a spot of shopping we had a wander along the River Lea in Ware.
The river originates a few hundred metres from where I use to live in Luton and continues its trail for over 40 miles to the River Thames in the capital.
Today I walked a short part of it at the Ware Weir/Ware lock section, more for a photo opportunity and a leg stretch.
The short part I took was flat and several canal boats frequented the area.
Ware itself is a pretty little town and worth a visit.....this river certainly adds to the charm.
